Melissa Ann Lambert

I am a multimedia artist whose works include traditional media (watercolor, pastel, pen and ink, acrylic, multimedia); digital or "new media", and combinations of both. My ancestors, dating back to the late 1700's, include sculptors, painters, and illustrators. I am a Los Angeles native, and have been painting most of my life. Frustrated in a 'cog-in-the-wheel' job as a Software Engineer at Warner Electra Atlantic, I began to build a body of new works in late 2002. After producing many abstract works on paper, I purchased a camera for documentation purposes. With experimentation, I soon learned to make art utilizing elements from my traditional medium works and photography. Currently, I belong to three Dialogue groups in Los Angeles consisting of artists, writers, and musicians. My influences, aside from too many artists to mention here, include the latest fantastical discoveries of particle physics, superstring, brain, biotic theory, and Eastern philosophy. Authors as diverse as Gary Zukov, Brian Greene, Daniel Goleman, Carlos Castenada, Aldous Huxley, Joseph Campbell, William Blake, and Carl Jung have influenced my perception and vision.
